The Zambia University-College of Technology (ZUT) is a Government owned higher learning institution established by Statutory Instrument No. 39 of 2022. The institution has continued to record growth in various areas of operation. The University-College is based in Ndola, and offers locally and internationally accredited professional and academic programmes, and a range of other products and services, such as skills training, consultancy and software development. In order to build on the current successes and achieve even greater heights, the University-College seeks to recruit dedicated and innovative professionals who are passionate about making a significant and positive contribution to the education sector in Zambia. 1. LECTURER – CYBER SECURITY in the School of ICT – ZUT4 Salary Grade, Full time Contract (1 Position):
Job Purpose (Lecturing positions): Responsible for teaching and research; and for the development and review of curricula, supervision and marking of assessments and examinations; project supervision, student guidance, consultancy and community services; and administrative duties that may be assigned.
Key Responsibilities for Lecturing positions:
1. Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars.
2. Developing curricula and course material that can be used across a range of platforms.
3. Engaging industry, and collaborating with other academics and lecturers to improve teaching methods and expand knowledge base, leading to thoroughly equipped graduates.
4. Setting and grading assignments, tests, examinations, and research projects.
5. Conducting research, and writing papers, proposals, journal articles, and books.
6. Participating in the institution’s, innovation, consultancy, and business development strategies
7. Attending and participating in meetings, conferences, and other events in and outside of the institution.
8. Mentoring and providing support to students and other colleagues.
9. Staying current by reading widely and producing published work in the field.
10. Carry out administrative tasks related to the department, such as student admissions, induction programmes and involvement in committees and boards
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required for this Role
1. Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 “O” Levels including English & Mathematics;
2. Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security from a recognized higher learning institution at level 7 of the Zambia Qualifications Authority framework.
3. Master of Science degree in Cyber security from a recognized higher learning institution at level 9 of the Zambia Qualifications Authority framework.
4. An earned PhD will be an added advantage
5. Evidence of peer reviewed publications will be an added advantage
6. Certificate or Diploma in Teaching Methodology
7. Current Membership to a professional body
8. At least two (2) years’ experience in lecturing Cyber Security or related courses
Special aptitudes, disposition and personal qualities of ideal candidate for Lecturing positions:
• Demonstrable expertise in area of specialization
• Good organisational, communications, interpersonal, networking, analytical and general administrative skills
• Good emotional intelligence and ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve both your own teaching/research goals and the aims of your Faculty
• Ability to appropriately utilise ICT applications to support a blended learning approach to education
• Ability to design, produce and use a range of assessment instruments that are current, reliable, practicable and accessible.
2. LECTURER – MATHEMANTICS in the School of ICT - ZUT4 Salary Grade, Full Time Contract (1 Position)
Job Purpose: Responsible for teaching and research and for the development and review of curricula, supervision and marking of assessments and examinations; student guidance, consultancy and community services; and administrative duties that may be assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, workshops, and seminars.
2. Developing curricula and course material that can be used across a range of platforms.
3. Engaging industry, and collaborating with other academics and lecturers to improve teaching methods and expand knowledge base, leading to thoroughly equipped graduates.
4. Setting, invigilating and grading assignments, tests, examinations, and research projects.
5. Undertaking action research, consultancy and relevant community service in line with the College community service
6. Conducting research, and writing papers, proposals, journal articles, and books.
7. Participating in the institution’s research commercialization, consultancy, and business development strategies
8. Attending and participating in meetings, conferences, and other events in and outside of the institution.
9. Mentoring and providing support to students and other colleagues.
10. Staying current by reading widely and producing published work in the field.
11. Carry out administrative tasks related to the department, such as student admissions, induction programmes and involvement in committees and boards;
12. Contributing to the development, implementation and review of various College policies and strategic plans.

14. Any other duties that may be assigned by your Supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required for this Role
1. Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 “O” Levels including English & Mathematics;
2. Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from a recognized higher learning institution at level 7 of the Zambia Qualifications Authority framework.
3. Master of Science degree in Mathematics from a recognized higher learning institution at level 9 of the Zambia Qualifications Authority framework.
4. An earned PhD will be an added advantage
5. Evidence of peer reviewed publications will be an added advantage
6. Certificate or Diploma in Teaching Methodology
7. Current Membership to a professional body
8. At least two (2) years working experience in a similar capacity
Competences required for this Role

3. INTERNS – ASSET MANAGEMENT AND CODING – 3 Months Contract (2 Positions)
Job Purpose: To assist with asset management and coding tasks to ensure accurate and efficient management of assets and development of coding projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducting physical asset verification and updating asset registers;
2. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date asset records;
3. Identifying and reporting any asset discrepancies or issues;
4. Developing and testing code for various projects;
5. Collaborating with team members to resolve code issues;
6. Participating in code reviews and contributing to the improvement of the codebase;
7. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience required for this Role
1. Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 “O” Levels including English & Mathematics;
2. Diploma in Construction or any related field from a recognized higher learning institution at level 6 of the Zambia Qualifications Authority framework.
Competences required for this Role
1. Knowledge of database management
2. Good organizational, communications, interpersonal, networking, analytical and general administrative skills
3. Good emotional intelligence and ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
4. Capability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve both your own goals and the aims of the institution.
5. Computer literate.
